We had never had to go through anything like this before and when we were advised Dad was going to be released from rehab and we needed to find a memory care facility QUICKLY we reached out to Kristy. Kristy Malone of Oasis Senior Advisors Algonquin was invaluable in helping my wife and me find the perfect senior living facility for her parents, who are both in their 90’s and relocating to our area. She did a lot of detailed research and analysis to determine which facilities best fit their needs. It was because of her effort that we found an ideal place for them to live. My 90-year-old mother fractured her hip last Christmas morning. I had no experience with nursing homes, in home care or assisted living facilities. Luckily for me, Kristy at Oasis Senior Services knew my mom through meals on wheels and she offered her services to me. Kristy supplied us with options, pricing and is very knowledgeable about the different facilities. She set up tours and supplied me with contacts. We had a place picked out but unfortunately my mom had a major setback with sepsis. Since the facility could no longer handle her needs, she went back to a nursing home. My mother has Alzheimer’s/Dementia, and required a move to a different facility than the one she was already in. Our mom needed to move from her current facility after having been there for 8 1/2 years. She was comfortable there, and we were very comfortable with the care she was receiving. But because this facility was considered private pay, mother would have to move out once she ran out of money, which was our mothers situation. Moving mother was looming on the horizon, and we were very concerned about where we would be able to move mother that would be comparable to where she had been for so many years. After many months of an exhaustive search, we can finally say that mom has a new home in a clean, new, well staffed nursing facility that is catering to her memory care issues. We are extremely happy with where mother has been placed, but even more happy with the work that Kristy Malone has done for us to help us get to this place. We are extremely pleased with the care that Kristy has shown to our mother, and to my sister and I!
