Our House Senior Living – Richland Center Memory Care concentrates exclusively on memory care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The community also accepts respite or short-term stays, supporting families who need a temporary care solution or residents who are transitioning after a hospital stay. Diabetes management is available, and a speech therapist is on hand to address language, swallowing, or cognitive communication challenges related to dementia.
The residence is a secured community with an emergency call system in every resident space. Licensed nurses supervise 24-hour caregivers who provide medication management, incontinence care, and help with ambulation. On-site services include occupational and physical therapy, podiatry, and ambulatory care, reducing the need for outside appointments. Hospice support can be arranged when needed, and the layout, lighting, and cueing are designed specifically to accommodate memory loss.
Suites are offered in several floor plans; some include wheelchair-accessible showers, in-unit washers and dryers, cable TV, and all utilities. Select accommodations are pet friendly, and residents have supervised access to landscaped outdoor areas. Parking is available for visitors and residents who still drive, but not every room or unit includes every listed feature.
Meals are prepared on site three times daily, with menus tailored to older adults and adjusted for specialized diets such as diabetic needs. Staff remain in the dining room to cue or assist residents and can provide texture-modified options. Nutritious snacks are stocked throughout the day to maintain energy and stable blood-sugar levels.
An activity center hosts organized programs that range from bingo and arts and crafts to club meetings and TV or movie nights. Residents can read or go online in the library and computer lounge, and supervised outdoor time is available in secured courtyards and walking paths, offering a balanced schedule of indoor and outdoor engagement.
