Maple Ridge of Plover offers a dedicated Memory Care program designed for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, including advanced stages. The community is equipped to accept individuals who wander during either the day or night, present elopement risk, display combative or other behavioral challenges, or who stay up throughout the night. Residents under 60 are welcome when memory care is needed, and the team follows physician-ordered special diets to manage conditions such as diabetes, swallowing disorders, or food allergies.
Around-the-clock clinical oversight underpins daily life. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site 24 hours a day, with additional nursing support on call. Staff members undergo background checks, and an awake night shift ensures continuous supervision. Security measures include door alarms, wander guard systems, pull cords and personal emergency response devices, plus a fenced rear area. On-site medical professionals provide podiatry, audiology, dental care, and therapy services, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Direct care staff offer full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Transfers are supported at every level—from simple standby assistance to two-person or Hoyer lift transfers for bed-bound residents—so the community can remain home even as mobility declines.
Private and semi-private rooms are available, and not every room includes each feature, so families should confirm specific layouts. Suites may include a private bathroom, furnished pieces, individual climate controls, cable hook-ups, and the option to repaint or decorate to match personal preferences. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are provided.
Dining is structured yet flexible. A set menu is served daily, but an on-order option is available if a resident prefers something different. Meals can be modified for mechanical chop, purée, thickened liquids, vegetarian diets, gluten-free needs, or other physician-directed restrictions. Snacks are stocked throughout the day, and residents may choose in-room dining or reserve a private dining room for family visits.
The building is wheelchair accessible and offers outside smoking areas, a beauty salon/barber shop, exercise room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, concierge desk, library, and organized special-interest clubs. Transportation includes scheduled local trips, medical-only shuttle service, and proximity to public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
