Vista West is a dedicated Memory Care community designed to serve residents with mild to advanced dementia. The team can manage wandering behaviors at any hour, elopement risks, residents who stay up through the night, and those who require wound care, oxygen management, special diets, or diabetic support with either oral medications or insulin injections. Individualized care plans address changing cognitive and medical needs, with regular monitoring to keep residents medically stable.
Health oversight is strengthened by an on-call nurse available around the clock, background-checked staff, and an awake night shift. A visiting podiatrist provides on-site foot care. Direct assistance is available for bathing, dressing, and toileting, and staff can help with eating when only some physical assistance is needed. Mobility support ranges from standby supervision to one- or two-person transfers, accommodating walkers and wheelchairs to reduce fall risk and keep residents active in daily programs.
Apartments may feature a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, and in-unit washer/dryer connections, though not every unit includes every feature. Residents can adjust their living environment for comfort and privacy while staff remain nearby for prompt support.
Meals are prepared with both set menus and made-to-order options, and snacks are available throughout the day. The culinary team can modify textures, manage physician-ordered diets, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure nutritional needs are met for residents with diabetes, swallowing difficulties, or other dietary restrictions.
Community amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, and scheduled transportation, with public transit stops nearby. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
