Caraton Commons is a memory-care only community, built specifically to accommodate residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other advanced dementia conditions. The team is equipped to manage elopement risk, combative or other challenging behaviors, nighttime wakefulness, and wound care. Residents receive continual monitoring that aligns with the specialized requirements of memory-care, and care plans are adjusted as cognitive needs change.
Clinical support is reinforced by a 24-hour nurse on call, an awake night shift, door alarms, and emergency pull cords that connect directly to 911. On-site services include incontinence and ambulatory care, medication management, hospice oversight, dental visits, podiatry, and both occupational and physical therapy. Staff can provide full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and they are trained to complete transfers ranging from standby help to two-person and bed-bound moves.
Accommodation options may include private bathrooms, although not every suite offers this feature. The community handles routine housekeeping and provides scheduled laundry services, reducing day-to-day tasks for residents and families.
Meals are served from a set menu three times daily, with staff available to give full dining assistance when needed. The culinary team coordinates with clinical staff to accommodate dietary restrictions common in dementia care and to encourage adequate nutrition and hydration.
Amenities on the campus include designated outdoor smoking areas, an on-site barber and beauty shop, community-wide internet access, and scheduled transportation for medical appointments, shopping, and local outings.
