The Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac offers three levels of residency—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—so residents can remain on campus even as needs change. Medical support is in place for common and complex health issues, including residents who wander during the day or night, those who stay up all night, and people requiring wound care, oxygen therapy, or specialized diets. Both oral-medication and insulin-dependent diabetics are accommodated. The community is equipped and staffed to support advanced dementia conditions, providing continuity of care as cognitive needs progress.
Around-the-clock clinical oversight is backed by an RN or LPN on staff, a nurse on-site 24 hours a day, and an additional nurse on call. All employees undergo background checks, and the building uses door alarms, Wander Guard technology, pull-cord alerts, and awake night-shift staffing to maintain security. On-site services cover ambulatory and incontinence care, and the team can deliver full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from supervision with a walker to two-person or Hoyer-lift transfers, ensuring mobility support for residents with varying physical abilities.
Private and semiprivate suites are available, and many come furnished, include private bathrooms, independent temperature controls, cable service, and regular housekeeping; not every unit has all of these features, so it is best to verify specific layouts during a tour.
Meals are prepared daily and served in communal dining areas, with menus tailored to meet physician-ordered or preference-based special diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, or texture-modified options.
Amenities and services include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services, concierge desk, library, and pool. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
