Oakwood Hills – Sky Active offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living, allowing residents to adjust their level of support without relocating. Medical oversight begins with a licensed nurse on call 24 hours a day and extends to routine podiatry visits on site. The team can manage physician-ordered special diets and assist diabetics who use oral medications, and while the community does not specialize in dementia care, it coordinates with outside providers when additional medical monitoring is required.

Daily support is organized around clearly defined staffing and safety measures. All team members undergo background checks, and awake staff are present through the night, backed by round-the-clock security and pull-cord call systems in every apartment. Residents who need help with bathing, dressing or toileting can receive full assistance, and staff can offer some physical help at mealtimes. Transfers are handled according to each person’s capabilities, whether that involves standby assistance, walker or wheelchair support, a one- or two-person transfer, or the use of a Hoyer lift.

Apartments vary in size and layout, but many feature private bathrooms, kitchenettes, individual temperature controls and basic cable. Housekeeping and regularly scheduled laundry services are included, and maintenance staff handle repairs. Because not every unit contains every feature mentioned, prospective residents are encouraged to confirm specific amenities during their tour.

Meals are prepared to accommodate set menus as well as made-to-order requests, with diet modifications carried out under the guidance of nursing staff. Residents can eat in the main dining room, request in-room service or reserve a private space for family gatherings. Snacks are available throughout the day, and hydration stations are placed in common areas.
