The Park at University Village offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living, with a clinical scope that covers residents who wander at any time of day, have elopement risk, exhibit combative or other behavioral issues, or stay up all night. The team manages wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, and diabetes at all levels, including sliding-scale insulin. Residents under 60 are accepted, and the community is equipped to support moderate dementia conditions while also accepting individuals with ongoing psychiatric needs.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on staff around the clock, and a nurse is physically on site 24 hours a day. Caregivers can provide some physical assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to one- or two-person assistance for walkers and wheelchairs. The grounds feature front and rear fencing, 24-hour staff coverage, and a PERS system that alerts staff if a resident needs help.
Apartments may include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, in-unit laundry, and housekeeping services, though not every unit contains every feature. Scheduled laundry is available for residents without their own machines. Independent Living tenants can opt for medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, personal laundry service, and a monthly meal plan while otherwise directing their own routines.
Dining services give residents a daily set menu, an on-order option, snacks throughout the day, and the ability to dine in their rooms or reserve a private dining room for guests. The kitchen staff handles physician-ordered diet modifications and ongoing diet management so residents can follow diabetic, low-sodium, or other specialized nutritional plans without disruption.
The campus includes resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, library, and communal gardens. A concierge desk coordinates on-site special-interest clubs, internet access, and transportation services, and the property sits close to public transit for residents who prefer to travel independently. Smoking is allowed in designated outdoor areas, and pets are welcome; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
