Birchview Memory Care offers a dedicated memory-care program designed for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Care plans are individualized, and staff are trained to address the cognitive, behavioral, and physical needs that accompany memory loss. Daily routines are structured to promote familiarity and reduce stress, and the secure environment allows residents to move about freely while remaining safe.
Clinical support is available for residents who require diabetes management, including monitoring of blood glucose levels and medication administration. A licensed speech therapist visits the community to help address communication or swallowing challenges. Families who need temporary relief can arrange respite or short-term stays, receiving the same level of supervision as long-term residents. The entire building is a secured community, with controlled entrances and exits that limit wandering and enhance resident safety.
Apartments and suites vary in size and layout, and not all units include every feature, but options may include wheelchair-accessible showers, individual climate control, and views of landscaped outdoor areas. The community welcomes many small pets, subject to policies, and common areas feature a central fireplace, piano or organ, and on-site parking for visitors. Residents may relax in outdoor courtyards or take advantage of walking paths that start right outside the building.
Dining is offered throughout the day, so residents can eat on their own schedule. Three daily meals are prepared on site, with kosher and vegetarian dishes available upon request. Staff monitor nutrition and hydration, adapting textures or portions as needed to support individual health goals.
Recreational amenities include indoor and outdoor walking paths, raised garden beds, a library and computer lounge, and an activity center that hosts clubs, live music, birthday parties, and social outings. The community schedules reminiscence and sensory-based programs tailored to memory-care residents, and a swimming pool is available for low-impact exercise. Residents are free to spend time outdoors, and planned events help maintain social connections within and beyond the campus.
