Northgate Plaza offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living, with medical resources designed to meet a wide range of resident needs. Oxygen management, special diet preparation, monitoring for residents under 60, and support for diabetics using oral medications are available. Staff members are trained to assist people living with moderate dementia, and a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site to oversee clinical concerns and coordinate with outside providers.
Additional care features include an awake night-shift team, 24-hour staffing and security, pull cords that can either dial 911 directly or alert staff, and personal emergency response systems. Podiatry visits take place in the building. Northgate Plaza can furnish full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to two-person transfers and accommodates walkers and wheelchairs. An activity director organizes daily programs that fit the ability levels of both Assisted Living and Independent Living residents.
Accommodations vary by unit. Some apartments include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate; individual layouts differ, so not every feature is present in every residence. Housekeeping, laundry service, and maintenance are provided for all residents, and medication management monitoring is available for those in Independent Living.
Dining services include a standard menu plus made-to-order options, with staff able to manage physician-ordered diet modifications. Residents in Independent Living may enroll in a monthly meal plan that allows them to join any of the three daily meals served in the community dining room.
Amenities consist of wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, an exercise room, a movie room, internet access, on-site religious services, scheduled transportation, and proximity to public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
