Merrill Gardens at Ballard offers Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care, including support for residents with advanced dementia conditions. The community is prepared to manage a full range of medical needs such as daytime or nighttime wandering, exit seeking, combative or other behavioral issues, staying up all night, wound care, oxygen use, special diets, and diabetes management—whether oral medication, injections, or sliding scale. Residents under 60 years old can also be accommodated when the care needs align with the services offered.

Round-the-clock staff coverage includes an on-site RN/LPN and a nurse on call 24 hours a day. Emergency pull cords and personal emergency response systems connect directly to team members, and security personnel are on site at all times. On-site services span incontinence and ambulatory care, medication management, hospice coordination, and regular visits from nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and a podiatrist. Full assistance is available with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and staff can support walkers, wheelchairs, standby help, or a one-person transfer as needed. An activity director coordinates programs that align with each resident’s care plan and abilities.

Apartments may include a private bathroom, a kitchenette, independent temperature controls, and cable service, though not every unit has every feature. Floor plans are designed to support mobility devices and allow staff easy access during care moments.

Meals are cooked to order, and snacks are available throughout the day. The culinary team can adjust textures, portion sizes, and ingredients to comply with physician-directed diet modifications, including diabetic, low-sodium, or other specialized meal plans.
