The Kenney in Seattle offers three levels of residential support: Independent Living for residents who require minimal assistance, Assisted Living for those who need help with daily routines, and a dedicated Memory Care program for individuals living with cognitive impairment. Clinical resources are in place to complement each care level. On-site speech therapy addresses communication challenges, and respite or short-term stays allow families to arrange temporary coverage. Residents managing diabetes receive targeted monitoring and support, and an attending doctor is available to oversee ongoing medical needs.
Additional health services are embedded in day-to-day operations. The community is secured, which is especially important for Memory Care residents who may be at risk of wandering. Hospice care is available for end-of-life comfort, while physical, occupational, and ambulatory therapies help maintain or improve mobility. The staff manages medications, provides incontinence care, and supports residents with conditions that require specialized attention. A nurse is on site, and visiting professionals such as a dentist and podiatrist round out preventive and routine care. The Memory Care neighborhood is designed to minimize confusion and maximize safety, and the entire environment functions as a memory-care-only setting.
Housing options range from studios to larger units, and residents can choose layouts that best match their needs. Features may include wheelchair-accessible showers, kitchenettes for light meal preparation, individual climate control, and reserved parking, although not every apartment contains every feature. Pets are welcome within policy guidelines, and outdoor areas give residents a place to walk animals or relax when weather permits.
Dining is handled by the community’s culinary team, which serves three daily meals with attention to nutritional requirements. Standard menus are complemented by vegetarian selections, and staff can accommodate physician-ordered diets when necessary. For residents in apartments with kitchenettes, optional meal plans allow flexibility between cooking independently and dining in common areas.
Residents have access to an activity center for planned events and exercise, outdoor space for fresh air, and a library and computer lounge for reading or internet use. Regular social outings keep residents connected to the larger Seattle community, fostering engagement beyond the campus.
