Cogir of Northgate Memory Care provides a single, dedicated level of support—Memory Care—designed for residents living with all stages of dementia, including advanced conditions. The care team is trained to address a wide spectrum of medical needs such as wandering behaviors at any time of day, elopement risk, combative or other behavioral issues, nighttime wakefulness, wound care, oxygen management, specialized diets, and diabetic care covering oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin.
To deliver this care, the community maintains an RN or LPN on staff with a nurse on call around the clock. An Activity Director coordinates programming while 24-hour security and staff presence, alarmed doors, a fenced outdoor area, and in-room pull cords help keep residents safe. On-site podiatry is available. Staff can provide full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Mobility support ranges from supervision with a walker to two-person or Hoyer-lift transfers, including bed-bound care.
Residents live in suites that may include a private bathroom, individual climate controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate the space; specific features vary by unit. Families can review layouts during a visit to determine which combination of features best meets the resident’s needs.
Meals follow a set menu that can be modified for medical or personal dietary requirements, including diabetic and texture-altered diets. Snacks are available throughout the day, and staff monitor intake for those who need encouragement or full assistance with eating.
Amenities include a barber and beauty salon, a movie room, scheduled transportation for appointments or outings, and proximity to public transit for visiting family members. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
