Luca’s AFH is a residential care home designed to manage a wide range of health needs, including residents who wander day or night, exhibit elopement risk, show combative or other behavioral issues, or stay up throughout the night. The team is experienced in caring for people with complex chronic conditions such as advanced dementia, wound issues, oxygen dependence, and specialized dietary requirements. Support is available for adults under 60 as well as for diabetics on oral medication, insulin injections, or sliding-scale regimens.
Around-the-clock clinical oversight is provided by an RN or LPN on staff and a 24-hour nurse on call. The property maintains continuous on-site staffing and security measures such as door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, and a personal emergency response system that alerts caregivers. A visiting podiatrist handles routine foot care. Direct assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and staff can accommodate mobility needs ranging from walker supervision to full Hoyer-lift transfers and bed-bound care.
Residents live in private or semiprivate rooms; some include a private bathroom and cable service, though not every room has every feature. Furnishings and layout allow wheelchairs and other mobility devices to move freely.
Meals follow a set menu with snacks offered between meal times. Dietary modifications are handled on site, whether for diabetes, renal issues, or physician-ordered therapeutic diets.
The home is wheelchair accessible, offers internet access, and benefits from an RN resident manager. Public transportation stops are nearby, making it easier for family and friends to visit.
