Ana’s Adult Family Home is structured as a residential care home, so residents receive personal attention in a smaller, house-like setting rather than a large institution. Medical oversight is in place for residents who need wound care, oxygen management, special diets, or diabetes management—whether they take oral medications, receive injections, or follow a sliding-scale regimen. The staff is prepared for individuals who are awake throughout the night and is trained to work with advanced dementia, ensuring continuity of care for progressive cognitive conditions.
Care delivery is reinforced by a licensed nurse on site and an RN or LPN on call around the clock. An awake night shift, 24-hour staffing, door alarms, a fenced rear area, and a personal emergency response system help maintain safety. Residents who require full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, or toileting receive hands-on help. Mobility needs are addressed through standby assistance, one- or two-person transfers, walker and wheelchair support, and full transfers with a Hoyer lift for those who are bedbound.
Private rooms are available and may include a bathroom, basic furnishings, and cable access; residents can personalize their surroundings with their own décor or paint, subject to availability, because not every room offers every feature. The goal is to provide living quarters that balance privacy with proximity to staff when help is needed.
Meals follow a set menu, and snacks are offered between scheduled dining times. Kitchen staff can adapt recipes for low-sodium, diabetic, or other physician-ordered diets, coordinating closely with nursing staff to ensure nutritional requirements match medical plans.
The home is wheelchair accessible throughout common areas, and internet access is provided so residents can stay informed or connect with family online.
