HomePlace at Burlington offers two primary levels of care—Assisted Living and Memory Care—with the flexibility to meet a wide spectrum of medical needs. The community is prepared to care for residents who wander during the day or night, have a history of elopement, display combative or other behavioral issues, stay up all night, or live with advanced dementia. Clinical support covers wound care, oxygen use, and specialized diet management. Staff are trained to help adults under 60 years old as well as those managing diabetes, whether through oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site, and a nurse remains on call around the clock. The building maintains an awake night shift, 24-hour staffing, a fenced rear area, and a personal emergency response system that notifies staff of urgent needs. On-site medical services include hospice care, physical and occupational therapy, podiatry, ambulatory and incontinence care, and comprehensive medication management. Residents who need help with daily activities can receive full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Transfer support ranges from standby supervision for walkers to two-person or full Hoyer-lift transfers.
Private and semi-private accommodations vary, and not every room includes the same features. Many units provide independent temperature controls so residents can set their preferred climate, and some are wired for cable service so personal televisions can be connected.
Meals are prepared on site, and the kitchen operates with an on-order system that lets residents choose from available options at each meal. Diet modifications are available for diabetic, low-sodium, or other physician-directed nutritional needs, and staff monitor special diets to make sure each resident receives appropriate portions and ingredients.
Amenities and services include resident parking for those who still drive, designated outdoor areas for smoking, an on-site barber and beauty shop, a small library, and organized special-interest clubs that meet regularly.
