English Meadows Manassas provides both Assisted Living and dedicated Memory Care, including support for residents living with advanced dementia. The clinical team is prepared to manage wandering behaviors day or night, elopement risk, combative or other challenging behaviors, and sleep–wake cycle disruptions. Nurses oversee wound care, oxygen management, specialized diets, and diabetic care for residents on either oral medications or insulin injections. Younger adults with disabilities are accepted, and a therapy room is available for on-site rehabilitation or strength-building sessions.
Care is delivered by an RN or LPN with a nurse on site around the clock and another on call after hours. Staff members are background-checked, and an awake night shift monitors residents. Safety measures include a fenced rear courtyard, door alarms, WanderGuard bracelets, pull-cords that either alert staff directly or dial 911, and personal emergency response systems with the same options. Residents who need complete assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, or toileting receive hands-on help. Transfer support ranges from standby supervision to one- or two-person lifts, wheelchair or walker assistance, and care for those who are bedbound.
Private or semi-private accommodations may include features such as a private bathroom, a kitchenette, independent temperature controls, in-unit laundry, and cable service, though not every apartment has every feature. Residents can personalize their rooms with paint, décor, and furnishings, and housekeeping and scheduled linen service are provided.
Meals follow a set menu served in the community dining room, with a private dining space available for family gatherings. The culinary team manages diets that are gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanically chopped, puréed, or thickened as ordered by physicians, and can handle other physician-directed modifications.
Residents have access to on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty salon, an exercise room, a movie room, internet connectivity, communal gardens, a library, and space for clubs and interest groups. Religious services are held on site, and a concierge can help arrange transportation via the community shuttle for medical appointments or trips to nearby public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
