The Westmont at Short Pump offers Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care in one campus, allowing residents to move between levels of support without leaving familiar surroundings. Each care level is designed to address specific needs, whether routine help with daily tasks in Assisted Living, the autonomy and selected services of Independent Living, or the structured, secure environment of Memory Care.
Clinical resources are in place for residents who wander, attempt elopement, stay up all night, require wound care, oxygen, special diets, or diabetes management by oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale protocols. The community is equipped to support advanced dementia conditions. A licensed nurse is on site around the clock and another is on call; staff members are vetted through background checks and an awake night shift is standard. Safety measures include door alarms, pull-cord and PERS alert systems, and 24-hour security personnel. On-site podiatry visits reduce the need for outside appointments. Caregivers can give full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and they can manage transfers involving walkers, wheelchairs, standby supervision, or one-person lifts.
Apartments are available in several layouts, some offering private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, and cable service, though not every unit contains every feature. Residents choose between a set menu and made-to-order meals in the dining room, with snacks always on hand and modified diets prepared as prescribed.
Independent Living residents can add weekly housekeeping, personal laundry, and a monthly meal plan, allowing them to select only the services they want while still enjoying the community’s social and wellness programs.
Amenities include resident parking, outdoor smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, and controlled building entry. The campus features a barber/beauty shop, full-service spa, exercise and wellness centers, movie room, library, individual garden plots, walking trails, a bistro, and the RUI University lifelong-learning program. Rehabilitation therapies, internet access, scheduled transportation, and separate AL/MC laundry services are available. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
