Golden Living Community – Elizabeth House provides Assisted Living services designed to accommodate residents who need daily oversight and moderate medical intervention. The team is trained to support residents who wander at any time of day, display behavioral issues, stay up through the night, require wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, or oral diabetic management. Staff members are experienced with moderate dementia conditions and will accept residents under 60 years old when appropriate. On-site podiatry rounds help residents maintain foot health without leaving the building, and care plans are tailored to coordinate with outside physicians whenever necessary.
To deliver this care safely, the community conducts background checks on all employees, keeps an awake night shift on duty, maintains 24-hour staffing, and uses secured doors, alarms, and Wander Guard technology. A fenced rear area allows residents who like to walk to do so within a protected environment. Pull-cord alert systems connect each apartment to staff at all hours. Caregivers provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting, along with some help at mealtimes if needed. Transfer support ranges from standby supervision for walker users to two-person or Hoyer-lift transfers for residents with limited mobility.
Apartments are offered in several layouts, some with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, or the option to repaint and decorate; features vary by unit, so prospective residents should confirm availability. Housekeeping and laundry are provided for those residing in Independent Living units, enabling them to retain a lighter schedule while still managing their own day-to-day routines.
Meals are served on a set menu three times a day in the main dining room, with snacks available between sittings. The kitchen team works with the nursing staff to manage physician-ordered diet modifications such as low-sodium, diabetic, or mechanical-soft plans, and will provide partial assistance at the table for residents who need help cutting food or prompting to stay on task.
Community amenities include outdoor smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, a barber and beauty shop, communal gardens, patio seating, card, TV and bingo rooms, a sunroom, living room, library, and an activity room. Religious services are conducted on site, and residents have access to a covered drive-under entrance for safer loading during inclement weather. Transportation is offered for scheduled activities only. Internet and cable are available at cost, and resident parking is provided for those who still drive. Day-to-day services include medication management by medication technicians, personal and linen laundry, regular housekeeping for Assisted Living and Memory Care, and three daily meals. Walk-in closets are available in select units, and shared bathrooms can be arranged for residents who prefer or require them. The community is located near a skilled nursing facility, fire department, and ambulance service, which can shorten response times during emergencies.
