Shenandoah Senior Living delivers both Assisted Living and Memory Care. The community is prepared for residents who wander at any time of day, are at risk for elopement, display combative or other behavioral issues, stay up all night, or live with advanced dementia. Clinical staff can manage wound care, oxygen use, special diets, and diabetes—whether controlled by oral medications, scheduled insulin injections, or sliding-scale dosing. Residents younger than 60 can also be accommodated, provided their care needs align with what the community offers.
A nurse is on call around the clock, and an awake night-shift team monitors residents through door alarms, pull cords, and in-room personal emergency response systems. All employees undergo background checks. On-site medical services include visiting podiatry, a therapy room, and acceptance of psychiatric diagnoses. Full-support assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and staff can provide transfers ranging from standby help to two-person or Hoyer-lift moves for bed-bound residents. Walkers and wheelchairs are supported throughout the building.
Accommodation options may feature a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, and cable service, though not every suite has every feature. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided for all residents, and maintenance staff handle routine repairs. Meals follow a set menu with alternate choices; therapeutic modifications such as mechanical-chopped, puréed, thickened-liquid, vegetarian, and other physician-ordered diets are prepared daily. Snacks are available throughout the day, and in-room dining can be arranged when needed.
Independent Living residents on the same campus can elect medication-management monitoring. Staff track dosages, refill schedules, and any physician-ordered changes, allowing these residents to remain as independent as possible while maintaining medication safety.
Resident services include on-site parking, outside smoking areas, and wheelchair-accessible common spaces. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. A barber and beauty salon, movie room, library, internet access, concierge desk, and special-interest clubs are available. Religious services take place on site, and scheduled transportation is offered for medical appointments, errands, and community outings.
