Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads offers three levels of care—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—so residents can remain in the same community even as needs change. The Memory Care program accepts residents who wander during the day or night, require oxygen therapy, follow special diets, are under 60, or manage diabetes with oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale dosing. Staff are trained to work with advanced dementia and to supervise or assist residents who stay up all night.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site, supported by a 24-hour on-call nurse, awake night staff, an activity director, and security personnel at all times. All employees undergo background checks. Door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, WanderGuard systems, pull cords, and personal emergency response systems provide layered safety. On-site podiatry is available, and full assistance is offered for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Residents who use walkers or wheelchairs—or who need standby supervision or a one-person transfer—receive help from trained caregivers.
Living accommodations range from studios to larger apartments; some include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, furnished basics, cable access, and the option to paint or otherwise personalize the space, though not every unit has every feature. Housekeeping, laundry, and a monthly meal plan are included for Independent Living residents, allowing them to maintain autonomy without routine chores.
Dining services provide a set menu at each meal, an on-order option for variety, and snacks throughout the day. The culinary team manages special diets—including diabetic, low-sodium, and other physician-ordered modifications—so residents’ medical and nutritional needs stay aligned.
Residents have access to on-site parking, exterior smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, a barber and beauty shop, exercise and movie rooms, a wellness center, internet connectivity, communal gardens, and scheduled religious services. Transportation is provided, and the property is close to public transit for personal outings. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
