Paul Spring Retirement Community provides three levels of residency—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—so residents can transition between supports without leaving the campus. The health team is equipped to manage wandering at any time of day, elopement risk, combative or other challenging behaviors, and “up-all-night” sleep patterns. Clinicians supervise wound care and oxygen therapy, accommodate residents under 60, and tailor meal plans for complex diets, including all forms of diabetic management from oral medications to sliding-scale insulin. The Memory Care program is designed for early through advanced dementia, allowing residents with significant cognitive decline to remain on site.
Around-the-clock medical oversight includes an RN or LPN on staff at all times, a 24-hour nurse on site, and another on call. All employees undergo background checks, and the night shift is fully awake. Doors are alarmed, wander guards are available, and in-room pull cords can alert staff or dial 911. On-site services bring podiatry, audiology, dental care, a therapy room, and psychiatric consults into the building, reducing the need for outside appointments. Caregivers can supply full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby to two-person and Hoyer-lift support, and even bed-bound residents can be accommodated.
Apartments come in several layouts, many with private baths, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, and the option to paint or decorate the space; some are pre-furnished while others are left open for personal furnishings. Cable service, weekly housekeeping, and either in-unit laundry or scheduled laundry pickup are provided, although not every unit offers every feature listed. Independent Living residents receive medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, linen service, and a monthly meal plan while still enjoying full privacy.
Dining offers both a set menu and on-order selections at each meal, with snacks available throughout the day, in-room service when needed, and a private dining room for family events. Kitchen staff prepare specialized diets such as gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chop, puréed, or thickened-liquid textures, and can coordinate physician-ordered calorie or carbohydrate restrictions.
Residents have access to on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty salon, exercise room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, library, concierge desk, special-interest clubs, and scheduled religious services. Transportation options include proximity to public transit, a community shuttle for medical appointments only, and a town-car service for personal errands. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
