New Haven of Wylie delivers two levels of residential care: Assisted Living for adults who need help with everyday tasks and Memory Care designed for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The community is secured to prevent unsupervised wandering, and its layout is planned specifically to accommodate memory loss, providing visual cues and easy-to-navigate common areas that support orientation and safety.
Clinical oversight is extensive. Residents have access to on-site physician visits, diabetes management, respite or short-term stays, regular medication management, and 24-hour nursing support. A dentist and podiatrist visit the community, and licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists develop individualized rehabilitation plans. Care teams provide incontinence services and ambulatory assistance, and the community’s memory-care-only programming ensures consistency for those with cognitive decline.
Apartments offer practical features such as wheelchair-accessible showers, kitchenettes, handicap-friendly layouts, cable or satellite television connections, Wi-Fi, individual climate controls, and access to outdoor areas and on-site parking. A central fireplace, piano, and multiple lounges add shared spaces for relaxation. Not all units include every feature, so prospective residents should review specific floor plans during a tour.
Dining is structured yet flexible. Three chef-prepared meals are served daily, with an all-day dining option for residents who prefer alternate times. Menus accommodate no-sugar and other physician-ordered diets, supporting the community’s strong diabetes program. Guests may join residents for meals by arrangement, and hydration stations and snacks are available between sittings.
Residents can stay engaged with an activity center, library and computer lounge, scheduled clubs, yoga and chair-yoga classes, fitness programs, indoor and outdoor walking paths, raised garden beds, happy hours, live-music events, dances, birthday celebrations, intergenerational visits, reminiscence and sensory-based programs, social outings, and seasonal access to a swimming pool. Staff monitor participation levels to ensure that each resident can select activities that match personal interests and care plans.
