Villa de San Antonio offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living, giving residents the flexibility to choose the level of daily support they need. The care team is able to manage routine conditions such as oxygen use, special diet requirements, needs of residents under 60, and diabetes controlled with oral medication. Staff members remain available to help throughout the night for residents who have overnight care needs, and podiatry services are provided on-site for ongoing foot and ankle health. The community does not provide specialized dementia programming.
Around-the-clock oversight is built into daily life at this community. A licensed nurse is on staff, another nurse is on call 24 hours a day, and caregivers work awake night shifts. Background checks are standard for all employees, and emergency pull cords and personal emergency response systems alert staff at any hour. Residents who need help with bathing or dressing receive some physical assistance, while eating and toileting support is geared toward those who can manage these tasks on their own. Mobility assistance ranges from simple standby supervision to a full one-person transfer, and the campus accommodates walkers and wheelchairs.
Accommodations include studio and one-bedroom layouts with a mix of features such as private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable hookups, and the option to paint or decorate the suite. Not every apartment has every feature, so families can review available layouts during a tour. Meals are cooked to order, snacks are on hand throughout the day, and the kitchen staff handles physician-ordered diet modifications.
Independent Living residents participate in a monthly meal plan that covers a set number of meals in the main dining room, allowing them to supplement with their own cooking if they choose. Assisted Living residents receive three meals daily and ongoing menu oversight to ensure dietary goals are met.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise and movie rooms, a wellness center with internet access, and landscaped communal gardens. Religious services are offered on site, and scheduled transportation is available in addition to the community’s proximity to public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas.
