The Gardens of Castle Hills offers assisted-living support with an emphasis on managing complex medical needs. The community accepts residents who wander during the day or night, are at risk for elopement, exhibit combative or other behavioral issues, stay up all night, require wound care or oxygen, live with diabetes (oral medications or injections), or are under 60 years old. Staff are trained to work with advanced dementia and other cognitive conditions, allowing residents to remain in place as care needs change.
Clinical coverage includes an RN or LPN on staff with a nurse on call 24 hours a day. Background-checked team members provide awake night-shift monitoring, and the building uses door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, pull-cord alert systems, and round-the-clock security. On-site podiatry services are available, and the community can admit residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Full assistance is offered for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby to two-person support, and mobility devices such as walkers and wheelchairs are accommodated.
Accommodations include studios and suites, some with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate. Because floor plans vary, not every unit contains each of these features, so families may want to confirm availability during a tour.
Meals follow a set menu with the option to order alternate entrées. Snacks are available throughout the day, and the culinary team handles diet modifications and management for conditions such as diabetes or swallowing disorders. Dining staff coordinate closely with nursing to ensure nutritional plans align with each resident’s care requirements.
Residents have access to parking, outside smoking areas, and wheelchair-accessible common spaces. Amenities include a barber and beauty shop, exercise and wellness rooms, movie and game rooms, a library, therapy room, flat-screen TVs, piano, pool table, communal gardens, a porch, and on-site religious services. Internet access is provided, and scheduled transportation as well as proximity to public transit make off-site appointments easier. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
