Brookdale Summer Ridge is an assisted-living community equipped to manage a wide range of medical needs. The team can accommodate residents who wander day or night, those at risk of elopement, individuals with behavioral issues, and people who are awake throughout the night. Clinical support extends to wound care, oxygen use, special diets, advanced dementia, residents younger than 60, and multiple levels of diabetic management—including oral medication, injections, and sliding-scale insulin.
Clinical coverage is reinforced by having an RN or LPN on staff, a nurse on site around the clock, and another nurse on call. Background-checked personnel remain awake overnight, and the building uses secured doors, alarmed exits, fenced areas, wander-guard technology, and emergency pull cords that can alert staff or contact 911 directly. On-site services include medication management, diabetic and wound care, occupational and physical therapy, podiatry, hospice, a wellness center, and non-ambulatory or memory care. Staff provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and can support transfers ranging from standby help to two-person lifts, whether the resident uses a walker or wheelchair.
Private and semi-private suites are available; some have private bathrooms, independent temperature controls, cable access, and the option to paint or decorate. Because layouts vary, not every room offers every feature, so it is best to verify specifics during a tour.
Meals are available by set menu or made-to-order, and snacks are on hand throughout the day. The culinary team can modify textures, portion sizes, and ingredients to align with physician-ordered diets, diabetic requirements, and other medical nutrition needs.
Residents have access to on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, an exercise room, a wellness center, internet, communal gardens, and scheduled religious services; transportation is provided for appointments and shopping. Pets are allowed. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
