For those who require daily clinical oversight, the community accommodates residents who wander during either the day or night, delivers oxygen management, and supports diabetics on oral medication or insulin injections. Advanced dementia conditions are accepted, and the care team is set up to address the heightened monitoring these residents often need.
Care delivery is fortified by a licensed nurse on staff, an on-call nurse 24 hours a day, and awake night-shift caregivers. Safety systems include pull cords in apartments, personal emergency response devices, and round-the-clock staff presence. On-site services cover incontinence and ambulatory care, formal memory care programming, pet-focused therapeutic activities, medication coordination and management, hospice support, and visits from a dentist, nurse, podiatrist, physical and occupational therapists. When personal assistance is needed, staff can manage bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting at a full-assistance level, and they are trained in walker, wheelchair, standby, one-person, or two-person transfers.
Apartments are designed to help residents remain as independent as possible. Some units include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, individual climate controls, and cable hookups, and residents may paint or decorate to suit personal tastes; however, not every accommodation has all of these features, so it is important to confirm specific availability during a tour.
Meals are served from a set menu in a communal dining room, and snacks are available between scheduled meal times. Independent Living residents who choose medication-management monitoring can have nursing staff oversee prescriptions while still enjoying autonomy in the rest of their routine.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, fitness and movie rooms, internet access, on-site religious services, scheduled housekeeping and laundry, a library, crafts and activities room, billiards, a friendship garden with walking paths, a courtyard patio, a country store, on-site therapy services, a community dog park, and scheduled transportation. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
