Delaney at South Shore is dedicated exclusively to Memory Care and is prepared to manage the medical complexities that often accompany cognitive decline. Team members monitor residents who wander during either daytime or nighttime hours and have protocols in place for elopement risk. Clinical staff administer oxygen therapy, coordinate special diets, and manage diabetes whether residents are on oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. The community also accepts residents with advanced dementia conditions, ensuring continuity of care as needs progress.
Around-the-clock medical oversight is a central feature. An RN or LPN is on site 24 hours a day, backed by an on-call nurse for additional support. Staff members have completed background checks, remain awake overnight, and respond to PERS alerts. On-site services include podiatry, audiology, dental care, medication management, a therapy room, and visits from a primary care physician who can address psychiatric issues. Caregivers provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and can accommodate mobility needs ranging from walker or wheelchair supervision to one- or two-person transfers and Hoyer lift transfers.
Resident rooms are designed for practical comfort. Many units feature a private bathroom, independent temperature controls, and cable service, and residents are encouraged to personalize their space with their own paint colors or decorations. Housekeeping is provided, and scheduled laundry services help residents maintain a consistent routine. Not all accommodations contain every listed feature, so touring the available floor plans is advisable.
Dining follows a flexible approach that aligns with clinical directives. A standard daily menu is available, but residents may order alternate selections as needed, and a private dining room can be reserved for family meals. The kitchen is equipped to serve mechanical-chopped, puréed, or thickened-liquid textures to support safe swallowing, and therapeutic diets are coordinated with nursing oversight to align with each care plan.
Amenities extend beyond medical care to support daily life. The building is wheelchair accessible and offers an exercise room, movie room, wellness center, communal gardens, library, and art studio. On-site religious services, concierge assistance, internet access, a full-service salon for a fee, and scheduled transportation, including a townecar, are also available. Residents sign a one-year lease with a 30-day move-out notice. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
