The Auberge at Kingwood is dedicated exclusively to Memory Care, providing support for residents living with all stages of dementia, including highly advanced conditions. Care teams are trained to manage complex medical and behavioral needs such as wandering at any time of day, elopement risk, combativeness, nocturnal wakefulness, wound care, oxygen use, specialized diets, diabetes management (both oral medications and injections), and the unique requirements of residents under 60. By limiting its focus to Memory Care, the community can maintain routines and therapeutic approaches designed specifically for cognitive loss.
Residents benefit from registered or licensed nurses on staff, an on-call nurse around the clock, and awake night-shift caregivers who monitor a secure building equipped with door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, and 24-hour security. The community coordinates on-site podiatry, audiology, dental services, therapy space, and will accept residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility, whether a resident needs simple walker guidance, one- or two-person transfers, a Hoyer lift, or care while bed-bound. An activity director structures therapeutic programs that address both cognitive stimulation and physical health, and every staff member undergoes background checks before hire.
Accommodations are designed for safety and familiarity, with private bathrooms in many—but not all—suites. Residents may personalize their rooms with paint or decor, and housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are provided. Cable television is offered for a fee, and layouts allow easy navigation for those using wheelchairs or walkers.
Meals follow a set menu tailored by dietary staff who can modify textures to mechanical-chopped, puréed, or thickened liquids. Specialized diets for diabetes, cardiac health, and other medical conditions are managed as ordered. Snacks are available throughout the day, and in-room dining is an option when health or preference requires it.
Amenities include outdoor smoking areas, full wheelchair accessibility, a barber and beauty shop, a movie room, community internet access, and secure communal gardens. On-site religious services and special-interest clubs add daily structure. The community handles housekeeping, medication management, and pharmacy coordination, and transportation is available for a fee.
