The Village of the Heights offers both Assisted Living and secure Memory Care, giving families a single setting for changing care needs. The community is prepared for residents who wander during the day or night, need elopement prevention, stay up all night, require oxygen, follow physician-ordered special diets, or are younger than 60. Staff can monitor and support diabetics who use oral medication and are trained to work with residents who have advanced dementia.
Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses are on staff, with a nurse on call around the clock. All employees undergo background checks, and an awake night shift, 24-hour security presence, perimeter fencing, emergency pull cords, and optional personal emergency response systems are in place. On-site providers include dentists, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, massage therapists, and podiatrists. The building is laid out specifically to minimize disorientation and operates as a stand-alone Memory Care community within the property. Hospice, medication coordination, and incontinence and ambulatory care are available. Staff can give full assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting, provide some help with meals, and execute walker, wheelchair, standby, or one-person transfers.
Resident apartments vary; some include a private bathroom, a kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to repaint or re-decorate. Families should confirm which features are present in specific suites during a tour.
Dining includes a set menu and an on-order option at each meal, plus snacks throughout the day. The kitchen can honor diet modifications, mechanical-chopped textures, purée diets, and thickened liquids as ordered by a physician or speech therapist.
Amenities include outdoor smoking areas, pet-friendly policies, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, a barber and beauty shop, fitness room, movie room, internet access, communal gardens, and on-site religious services. Medication management, weekly housekeeping, linen service, and scheduled transportation are also provided. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
