The Buckingham offers independent living supported by targeted medical services that go beyond what many communities provide at this level of care. Residents who use oxygen, are under 60 years old, or manage diabetes with oral medication can be accommodated. Mild dementia conditions are also supported, and on-site clinicians provide incontinence care, ambulatory care, hospice care, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and podiatry services as needed.
Daily oversight is reinforced by background-checked staff, an activity director, and 24-hour security with fenced front and rear areas plus personal emergency response systems that alert staff. Team members assist with bathing, dressing, or toileting on a standby basis, and they supervise meals for those who need reminders rather than full assistance. Transfers are handled for residents using walkers or wheelchairs, and one-person standby transfers are available.
Apartments include a mix of features such as private bathrooms, independent temperature controls, cable service, full kitchens, and in-unit laundry, with housekeeping provided. Residents can paint or otherwise personalize their space, but not every unit offers every listed feature, so it is best to confirm specifics during a tour.
Dining options cover three settings. A bistro offers quick meals, snacks, and coffee, while a casual dining room provides everyday lunch and dinner service. For a more formal experience, a separate dining room hosts plated meals with table service.
Amenities include a wellness center, health and fitness club membership, outdoor pool, communal gardens, theater, full-service salon, library, special-interest clubs, business center, on-site religious services, concierge support, covered and garage parking, and wheelchair-accessible design throughout. Scheduled transportation is provided, and lease terms are available for six months with a 30-day notice requirement. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
