Silverado Hermann Park is dedicated exclusively to memory care, with programming and clinical protocols designed for residents living with all stages of dementia, including advanced conditions. The community is prepared to manage residents who wander at any time of day, present elopement risk, demonstrate combative or other behavioral issues, stay awake through the night, require wound care, need supplemental oxygen, follow special diets, or are younger than 60. Diabetes support ranges from oral medications to injections and sliding-scale insulin, allowing the nursing team to individualize glycemic control without moving residents off-site.
Around-the-clock clinical coverage backs these services: an RN or LVN is on site 24 hours a day, another nurse is on call, and caregivers work awake night shifts. The property is secured with perimeter fencing, alarmed doors, pull-cord call systems, and constant staffing. Routine on-site physician visits, psychiatry, podiatry, audiology, dental care, therapy services, medication management, and a dedicated rehab area limit the need for outside appointments. Caregivers provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting and are trained in every transfer method from walker support to Hoyer lifts for bed-bound residents, including one-person, two-person, and standby transfers.
Private and companion suites are available, and some include private bathrooms, pre-furnished layouts, individually controlled heating and air, cable hookups, and the option to paint or decorate the room. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided for every resident, but not every unit contains every listed feature, so families should confirm specifics during a tour.
Meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen with both set menus and made-to-order options. The culinary staff can accommodate mechanical soft diets, purées, thickened liquids, and other physician-ordered modifications. Snacks are stocked throughout the day so residents have access to nutrition outside scheduled meal times.
Residents have access to wheelchair-friendly common areas, an exercise room, a wellness center, a barber and beauty salon, internet, a library, and landscaped communal gardens. Religious services are held on site, and a concierge helps arrange custom, respectful, and dignifying activities as well as community outings. Scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments and group excursions. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
