Village Green Highland Village is dedicated exclusively to memory care, supporting residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Licensed nurses and trained caregivers are on duty around the clock to handle medication management, glucose monitoring, insulin administration, oxygen supervision, and other clinical tasks ordered by each resident’s physician. Care plans are individualized and updated regularly to address changes in cognitive or physical status, and a secure environment with controlled entry and exit reduces the risk of wandering while allowing residents to move freely within the community.
Beyond routine medical oversight, the staff coordinates transportation to outside medical appointments, arranges on-site visits from primary-care physicians, podiatrists, dentists, and rehabilitation therapists, and conducts regular health assessments. A structured schedule of cognitive programming—such as reminiscence activities, music therapy, and simplified fitness classes—aims to maintain residents’ remaining abilities and reduce agitation. An emergency call system is monitored continually, and fall-prevention protocols, weight monitoring, and family care conferences are standard practice.
Accommodations include private and shared suites equipped with individual climate controls, accessible bathrooms, basic cable, and Wi-Fi. Housekeeping and personal laundry services are provided on a set schedule, and maintenance requests are handled by on-site staff. Some suites offer added features such as garden views, walk-in showers, or small sitting areas, but not all accommodations include every feature, so it is best to confirm availability during a tour.
Residents receive three meals a day in the communal dining room, with menus developed to meet nutritional guidelines for older adults and modified for soft, mechanical-soft, low-sodium, or diabetic diets when prescribed. Meals can be served in adaptive dinnerware to encourage independence, and staff are available to cue or assist residents who need help eating. Snacks and beverages are stocked and offered throughout the day, and families may join their loved ones for meals by arrangement with the kitchen.
