Garland Serenity Home is a residential care home equipped to handle a wide range of medical and behavioral needs. The team is prepared for residents who wander during the day or night, are at risk for elopement, have combative or other behavioral issues, stay awake overnight, require ongoing wound care, need oxygen therapy, or must follow specialized diets. Care is also available for adults under 60 and for all levels of diabetes management, including oral medications, injections, and sliding‐scale insulin. The staff is trained to work with residents living with advanced dementia, ensuring continuity of care as conditions change.
Care delivery is backed by a 24-hour on-site nurse, an on-call nurse, and an awake night shift. An activity director, door alarms, a fenced rear area, and wander‐guard protection add further oversight. On-site podiatry visits are available, and the home accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Direct support includes full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to one-person lifts, and care is extended to wheelchair users, walker users, and bed-bound individuals.
Residents find private and semi-private rooms, some with private bathrooms, furnished setups, and in-room cable; not every accommodation includes every feature. Daily meals follow a set menu with snacks offered throughout the day, and the kitchen accommodates physician-ordered and preference-based diet modifications. Independent Living participants can add medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, and laundry services.
Community features include outdoor smoking areas, pet acceptance, full wheelchair accessibility, a dedicated movie room, communal gardens, and in-room monitoring equipment. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
