Morada Friendswood – Memory Care is dedicated solely to residents who need Memory Care, including those living with early-stage memory loss through advanced dementia. The team is trained to address behaviors such as wandering by day or night, exit-seeking, combativeness, or other challenging actions. Residents who use oxygen, are under age 60, or manage diabetes with oral medication are also supported. Care plans are individualized and reviewed regularly so clinical staff can respond as conditions change.
Round-the-clock oversight is provided by licensed nurses on site or on call, with background-checked caregivers awake on every night shift. Doors are alarmed and the rear of the property is fenced to reduce elopement risk, and an Activity Director keeps structured programming in place throughout the day. Podiatry visits are scheduled on campus, and nurses handle medication management. Direct care assistance is available for full-service bathing, dressing, and toileting, while staff offer standby help during meals. Transfers can be carried out using a walker, wheelchair, standby cueing, or one-person physical assist, depending on each resident’s abilities.
Apartments are designed with private bathrooms, and residents may personalize their spaces with paint or décor when desired. Cable service, routine housekeeping, and scheduled laundry are provided, though not every unit includes every feature, so it is best to verify details during a tour.
Meals may be selected from a set menu or ordered as preferred, with snacks available between dining times. The kitchen accommodates physician-ordered dietary modifications, including mechanical-chopped, puréed, or thickened-liquid textures to support safe swallowing and adequate nutrition.
Residents have access to on-site parking, outdoor smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common rooms, an exercise room, a movie room, a wellness center, and internet connectivity. The community maintains communal gardens, offers regular religious services, provides a fee-based full-service salon, and arranges transportation for medical appointments and local outings.
