Autumn Leaves in Dallas offers three levels of care—Independent Living for residents who want freedom with light oversight, Assisted Living for those who need routine help with daily tasks, and Memory Care that is structured for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. The community accepts residents who wander during the day or night, who face elopement risks, who become combative, who stay up all night, who require oxygen, who follow special diets, or who are diabetic and managed by oral medication. Staff members are trained to work with advanced dementia conditions, allowing residents to remain on campus even as needs become more complex.
Around-the-clock safety measures back up that medical focus. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on staff, with a nurse on call 24 hours a day. Every employee must pass background checks, and the building is protected by 24-hour security, fenced outdoor areas, door alarms, WanderGuard technology, and pull-cord systems that connect either directly to 911 or immediately alert staff. Night staff remain on site but do not sleep while on duty. A dedicated activity director coordinates daily programming, and podiatry services are available on site. Residents who need complete assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, or toileting receive that help, and the team can perform walker and wheelchair escorts, standby or one- and two-person transfers.
Accommodations include studio and one-bedroom apartments, some with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, individual climate controls, and the option to paint or decorate to personal taste; not every unit contains every feature. Maintenance, weekly housekeeping, and linen service are part of the standard package, and emergency response systems are installed in each apartment.
Dining operates on a set menu prepared three times daily, with snacks offered between meals. The kitchen staff manages physician-ordered diet modifications, including low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, and texture-adjusted meals, and caregivers are available in the dining room to provide hand-over-hand assistance when needed.
Residents have access to wheelchair-friendly common areas, an exercise room for supervised fitness sessions, on-site religious services for various faith practices, and scheduled transportation for medical appointments, shopping, and local errands.
