The Wellington at Conroe offers an Independent Living setting with medical support for residents who use oxygen, follow prescribed special diets, or manage diabetes with oral medication. The staff is also trained to serve residents living with mild dementia. These services allow residents to remain in an apartment-style environment while having access to the clinical oversight they may need, including routine monitoring and coordination with primary care physicians who round on-site.
The community maintains registered and licensed nurses on staff with a nurse available on call around the clock. All employees undergo background checks, and an awake night shift, 24-hour security staffing, and a personal emergency response system add additional layers of safety. Clinicians such as a psychiatrist and a podiatrist visit regularly, and there is an in-house therapy room and a contracted pharmacy for quick medication adjustments. Bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance are provided on a standby basis, and residents who use walkers or wheelchairs can receive help with transfers as needed. An activity director organizes daily programs that are designed to keep residents engaged and socially active.
Apartments may include a private bathroom, individual temperature controls, the option to paint or decorate, cable hookups, in-unit laundry, and a full kitchen. Not every apartment has every feature, so it is advisable to ask the staff which layouts are currently available. Housekeeping is provided on a routine schedule to keep residences clean and organized.
Dining services follow a set menu with meals prepared on site, but the kitchen team can accommodate physician-ordered diet modifications, including mechanical soft, chopped, puréed, or thickened-liquid textures. Snacks are available throughout the day, and residents can request in-room dining when they prefer privacy or need additional rest.
Amenities include resident parking, outside smoking areas, and full wheelchair accessibility throughout the building. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. Other features consist of an on-site barber and beauty shop, internet access, communal gardens, a library, special-interest clubs, regularly scheduled religious services, and a shuttle limited to medical appointments.
