The Gardens at Amarillo Memory Care is a single-purpose memory care community that serves residents with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The center offers 24-hour memory care with access to physicians, diabetes management, respite or short-term stays, and speech therapy. Residents benefit from regular physician oversight, ensuring changes in health status are addressed promptly.
To support moderate dementia, the community maintains awake night-shift staffing for consistent supervision. On-site medical services include nursing, medication management, hospice coordination, occupational and physical therapy, ambulatory and incontinence care, podiatry, and dentistry. Caregivers can assist with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting when some physical help is needed, and the building is specifically designed for memory loss with secure entrances and way-finding cues.
Resident apartments can feature wheelchair-accessible showers, Wi-Fi, a central fireplace, and access to outdoor areas, parking, and a piano or organ for casual use. Not every unit includes every feature, so families should confirm specific layouts and amenities during a visit.
Daily dining includes three scheduled meals with an all-day dining option for flexible routines. Menus can accommodate kosher, vegetarian, low- or no-sodium, and no-sugar diets. Guest meals are available for visiting family members.
Community features include high-speed internet access for residents, a small library, and opportunities to join special interest clubs for social engagement and continued learning.
