Lyndale Abilene Memory Care is a memory-care-only community designed specifically for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, including advanced conditions. The team is equipped to provide medication management as well as targeted medical support such as diabetes monitoring and speech therapy. Residents who require hospice services can remain in place, and the community is prepared to manage incontinence and other ambulatory or mobility-related needs.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on staff around the clock, and a nurse is physically on site 24 hours a day. An activity director coordinates daily cognitive and recreational programs tailored to memory care needs, while 24-hour security and staff coverage help maintain a secure environment. Additional on-site resources include physical and occupational therapy, plus full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting for residents who need it.
Residents live in private or semi-private accommodations where housekeeping and regularly scheduled laundry services are provided, though not every accommodation includes every service or feature. Rooms and common areas are configured to reduce confusion and promote familiarity, important considerations for those with memory loss.
Meals are prepared by a professional chef and served restaurant-style, with all-day dining available for residents who need flexibility in their routines. Standard menus feature low-sodium and no-sugar options, and guest meals can be arranged so family members can dine together. Meal plans are included, but individual nutritional adjustments can be made when clinically indicated.
The community provides internet access so residents can stay connected with family and online resources, and scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments and local outings.
