Somerby Franklin offers three distinct levels of residential care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—so residents can receive the right support as needs change. Assisted Living delivers daily help with activities such as bathing, dressing, transferring, and medication reminders, while Independent Living emphasizes a maintenance-free lifestyle with optional services. Memory Care is designed for residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, including advanced stages, and incorporates secure environments, structured routines, and specialized staff to support cognitive health and safety.
The community is prepared to address a wide range of medical and behavioral needs. Nurses are on site around the clock, backed by RN/LPN oversight, regular background-checked staffing, door alarms, and awake night shift coverage. Somerby Franklin can care for residents who wander at any time of day, have elopement risk, exhibit combative or other behavioral issues, require oxygen, adhere to special diets, are under 60, or manage diabetes by oral medication or injection. On-site services such as podiatry, audiology, and a therapy room reduce the need for outside appointments. Staff provide full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and can handle transfers ranging from standby supervision and walker or wheelchair use to two-person or bed-bound support.
Apartments are offered in multiple layouts, some featuring private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, and in-unit laundry, while others rely on scheduled laundry services. Residents may paint or decorate their rooms and have access to cable service. Housekeeping is provided, and Independent Living residents can request additional housekeeping as part of their service package. Because floor plans vary, not every unit contains every amenity.
Meals are cooked to order, with snacks available throughout the day, and residents can dine in the restaurant-style dining room, request tray service in their apartments, or reserve a private dining room for family gatherings. Diet management accommodates gluten-free, mechanical-chopped, puréed, vegetarian, and other physician-ordered modifications. Independent Living residents benefit from the same flexible dining options but can choose lighter meal plans if they prefer more self-directed eating.
