Walking Horse Meadows provides both Assisted Living and Memory Care, giving it the flexibility to serve residents with routine support needs as well as those living with early-stage, mid-stage, or advanced dementia. The community can handle a wide range of clinical situations, including residents who wander during the day or night, those at risk for elopement, individuals who stay up all night, and people requiring wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, or diabetes management—whether by oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. Staff are also equipped to serve adults under age 60 who need an assisted-living setting.
Care delivery is backed by a licensed nurse on-site 24/7, supported by additional RN/LPN coverage, an awake night shift, and an activity director focused on engagement. Doors are alarmed, background checks are in place, and residents have access to pull cords and personal emergency response systems that alert staff at any hour. A dedicated therapy room supports on-site rehabilitation services. Daily living assistance is available as needed: some physical help with bathing and dressing, standby supervision during meals, and full assistance with toileting. Transfer support ranges from standby guidance to one-person mechanical assistance, and staff can work with walkers or wheelchairs.
Apartments can include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent climate controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate; housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided. Not all units have every feature, so prospective residents should confirm specific details during a tour.
Meals are prepared to order, with snacks available throughout the day, and clinical staff coordinate special diets when prescribed. Residents may dine in the main restaurant-style space, request in-room meal service, or reserve the private dining room for family events.
Amenities extend to resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services, a library, special-interest clubs, scheduled transportation, and proximity to public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
