Chandler Place Independent Living offers one level of care—Independent Living—and accepts residents under 60 who can benefit from a setting that keeps basic medical resources close at hand. A dedicated therapy room is available on site for scheduled rehabilitative sessions, and medication-management monitoring is offered to Independent Living residents who want staff oversight of prescriptions and dosages. Although the community does not provide memory care for any form of dementia, its healthcare approach is designed to promote safety and early intervention by pairing personal emergency response systems with around-the-clock staff coverage.
Daily support centers on practical, self-care tasks. Team members who have passed background checks are on duty 24 hours a day, ready to respond to pull-cord or PERS alerts. Staff can assist with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting for residents who normally handle these activities on their own but occasionally require help. Transfer assistance is available for both walker and wheelchair users, and an activity director coordinates programs that keep residents engaged while also monitoring for emerging healthcare needs.
Apartments are designed for privacy and flexibility. Floor plans may include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, housekeeping, and scheduled laundry; however, not every unit contains every feature, so it is best to confirm the details of a specific apartment when touring. Independent Living residents also receive routine housekeeping, weekly or bi-weekly laundry, and access to a monthly meal plan that reduces day-to-day meal preparation responsibilities.
Dining follows a set menu with snacks always available, and the kitchen can accommodate physician-ordered diet modifications or personal dietary preferences. Residents who opt into the monthly meal plan receive balanced lunches and dinners served in the community dining room, while breakfast is often prepared in the apartment’s kitchenette or taken in the common area. Staff monitor overall nutritional intake and can alert families or physicians if appetite or weight changes become a concern.
The campus is wheelchair accessible and features resident parking, a shuttle for medical appointments, and optional transportation for other outings. Amenities include exterior smoking areas, a wellness center, exercise room, movie room, barber and beauty shop, library, communal gardens, and multiple special-interest clubs. High-speed internet, concierge assistance, and on-site religious services are available, and pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
