The Marsh at North Charleston combines Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care in one secured community. Residents who need minimal support can maintain an independent lifestyle with optional services, while those requiring daily assistance receive help with activities of daily living within the Assisted Living program. The Memory Care neighborhood is specifically structured for individuals with dementia, offering tailored activities and an environment designed to reduce confusion and promote safety.
Medical care is available on a daily basis. On-site nurses cover 12–16 hours each day, and physicians visit the community to monitor ongoing conditions and adjust care plans. A mental wellness program supports emotional health, and respite or short-term stays are accepted when families need temporary placement. Diabetes management, medication administration, incontinence care, ambulatory assistance, and hospice coordination are all provided. Occupational and physical therapists, as well as a podiatrist, visit regularly, and staff members are trained in specialized Memory Care techniques. The entire property is secured to protect residents who may be at risk of wandering.
Apartments range from studios to larger units and may include kitchenettes, cable, phone service, and Wi-Fi. All residences are air-conditioned, and some feature wheelchair-accessible showers or other handicap-adapted fixtures. Outdoor seating areas, a library and computer lounge, resident parking, and uncovered guest parking are available. Cats are permitted in designated units. Because layouts vary, not every accommodation offers every listed feature, so prospective residents are encouraged to verify specific details during a tour.
Dining services provide three meals daily with options that include international dishes, vegetarian selections, low- or no-sodium plates, and no-sugar desserts when required. Guest meals are welcomed, and occasional BBQs or picnics are organized to give residents variety and social engagement.
Residents can participate in Live Well programs that promote physical and cognitive activity, join scheduled day trips and social outings, and attend community events such as happy hour and birthday parties. An activity center supports hobbies and group sessions, and a swimming pool is available for exercise or leisure.
