The Meridian at Carolina Lakes provides two levels of licensed care: Assisted Living and Memory Care. Assisted Living residents receive individualized support with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication management under the supervision of nursing staff available around the clock. Memory Care is structured for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and includes a secured environment, specialized programming, and caregivers trained in dementia-specific techniques. Both care types have on-site medical oversight, coordinated physician visits, and access to rehabilitative therapies as ordered.
Beyond the basic levels of care, the community offers 24/7 emergency response, routine wellness checks, and coordination with outside specialists for laboratory, imaging, and pharmacy services. Care plans are reviewed regularly and adjusted as residents’ needs change, ensuring continuity of medical supervision. Family members receive updates from the care team, and the staff manages transitions to higher levels of care or hospital services when necessary. Transportation to medical appointments in the surrounding area can be arranged through the community.
Resident apartments vary in size and layout, and not all units have the same features. Depending on the unit, residents may be able to paint or decorate their space, set up cable service, and use a kitchenette. Some apartments include in-unit laundry, while others rely on scheduled laundry services. Every residence has independent temperature controls, housekeeping, and a private bathroom. These options allow residents to choose the living arrangement that best matches their preferences and care requirements.
Meals are prepared on-site and can be ordered from a menu or chosen from set daily selections. Dietary accommodations include gluten-free, vegetarian, puree, mechanical-chop, thickened-liquid, and other physician-directed modifications. Snacks are available throughout the day, and a private dining room can be reserved for family gatherings. The culinary team coordinates closely with clinical staff to ensure that each resident’s nutritional plan aligns with medical directives and personal taste.
