Oaks at Chanticleer is a dedicated memory care community that accepts residents at every stage of cognitive decline, including those with advanced dementia. The health team is equipped to manage a wide range of clinical needs such as wandering—whether it occurs in the morning or evening—elopement risk, combative or other challenging behaviors, nighttime wakefulness, wound care, oxygen therapy, and special dietary requirements. Nurses monitor diabetes through oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale protocols, and the community is open to adults younger than 60 when clinically appropriate.
Around-the-clock care is reinforced by licensed nurses on site, an RN or LPN always on call, and an awake night shift. All employees complete background checks, and the building features alarmed doors, a fenced rear area, and continuous staffed security. Residents benefit from regular visits by physicians and psychiatric practitioners, in-house podiatry, and on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy delivered in a dedicated therapy room. The care team can assist fully with bathing, dressing, and toileting, provide partial help with meals, and support transfers that range from standby supervision to two-person assists whether a resident uses a walker or wheelchair. An activity director coordinates structured programs that align with individual care plans.
Private suites are available, some with their own bathroom and independent climate controls. Furnishings are provided, though families may add personal pieces or repaint to create a familiar environment. Weekly housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are included; frequency can be adjusted if care plans call for additional linen or clothing changes.
Dining follows a set menu with physician-approved modifications that span mechanical soft, chopped, puréed, and thickened liquid options, as well as vegetarian selections and other special diets. Staff members offer cueing or hands-on assistance to ensure residents with cognitive or physical challenges receive adequate nutrition. Snacks are accessible throughout the day to support blood-sugar management and reduce agitation related to hunger.
Residents have use of wheelchair-accessible common areas that include an art studio, movie room, heated shower suite, interior courtyards, and designated family event space. Scheduled two-hour rounding adds an extra layer of supervision and comfort. On-site amenities extend to a barber and beauty shop, neighborhood-style community layout, internet access, and religious services. A shuttle is available for medical appointments only.
