Florence Place offers both Assisted Living and Memory Care, allowing residents to remain on the same campus as their needs change. The community accepts individuals living with advanced dementia and provides medical oversight from a visiting or on-call physician. Short-term respite stays are available, and care teams are trained in diabetes management and speech therapy interventions to address swallowing or communication concerns.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site around the clock, backed up by an on-call nurse for additional support. Staff undergo background checks and maintain awake coverage during night shifts. Residents have access to medication management, hospice coordination, incontinence services, ambulatory and memory-specific programming, as well as occupational, physical and podiatry visits. Emergency response is reinforced by pull cords and personal emergency response systems that can alert staff or dial 911 directly. Assistance levels include full help with bathing and dressing, some physical support with toileting, and supervision for eating. Transfers are accommodated for those who use a walker.
Apartments are designed with practical features such as private bathrooms and optional kitchenettes, though not every unit includes every feature. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are provided, reducing daily chores for residents and allowing them to focus on programming and social engagement.
Dining services give residents the choice of set menus or made-to-order meals, with snacks available throughout the day. In-room service and a private dining room can be arranged. Therapeutic diets are supported, including gluten-free selections, mechanical soft or chopped textures, puréed meals, thickened liquids, and vegetarian options.
Community amenities include wheelchair-accessible common areas, an on-site barber and beauty shop, internet access, a library, and maintained communal gardens. Residents may participate in special-interest clubs, and scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments and errands.
