The Legacy of Anderson offers an Independent Living setting designed for older adults who want an active lifestyle with access to professional oversight. A licensed nurse is on site and available to coordinate medication schedules, monitor chronic conditions and respond to urgent health concerns. Each apartment is linked to an emergency response system that connects residents to staff members around the clock, and routine blood-pressure and weight checks help track ongoing wellness goals. Scheduled transportation to local physicians and medical centers is provided, so residents can keep specialist appointments without arranging separate rides.
Additional care features focus on preventive health and convenience. Residents can take part in on-site exercise classes that target balance, joint flexibility and cardiovascular strength, and periodic fall-risk assessments are offered to identify changes in mobility. Physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions can be arranged through visiting providers, and a pharmacy delivery program simplifies prescription refills. Housekeeping, linen service and maintenance are handled by staff, reducing the likelihood of accidents that can occur with strenuous chores.
Housing options include studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts, each equipped with a kitchenette, individual climate control and cable hookups. Select floor plans add walk-in closets, balconies or washer-dryer connections, but not every unit includes all of these features. Weekly housekeeping, all utilities except telephone and scheduled home safety checks are included. Pets are allowed. It's a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
Meals are prepared by a culinary team that works with a registered dietitian to meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate physician-ordered diets such as low-sodium, diabetic or renal plans. Three daily meals are served restaurant style in the main dining room, and lighter fare is kept available throughout the day for residents who prefer flexible eating times. Regular menu reviews give residents an opportunity to suggest favorite dishes, and themed meals or holiday spreads are added to keep the dining program varied without straying from dietary requirements.
