Walden III is an assisted-living community that accepts residents with wandering behaviors, special diets, and diabetes managed by oral medication. Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses are on staff, and a nurse is on call around the clock, which supports residents with advanced dementia and other complex health needs. Podiatry services are provided on site, limiting the need for outside appointments and helping residents keep mobility and balance issues in check.
Daily personal-care routines are covered in full when needed. Staff can give complete assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting, while residents who handle their own meals receive standby help as requested. Transfer support ranges from basic supervision to one-person physical transfers for walkers and wheelchairs. The building is secured 24 hours a day and is equipped with door alarms and in-room pull cords. Background-checked team members work awake overnight, and an activity director schedules programming that aligns with residents’ abilities and safety requirements.
Private and semiprivate suites come furnished and may include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, and in-unit housekeeping and laundry, though not every unit has every feature. Residents who live more independently can opt for housekeeping, laundry, and a monthly meal plan tailored to an independent-living schedule.
Meals follow a set menu served in the main dining room, with options for in-room service or private family dining when preferred. The kitchen accommodates special textures such as mechanical-chopped, puréed, and thickened-liquid diets, as well as vegetarian selections and other physician-ordered modifications. Snacks are available between meals to support stable blood-sugar levels and general nutrition.
Residents have access to parking, outdoor smoking areas, and wheelchair-accessible common areas. A barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, library, communal gardens, internet access, special-interest clubs, and on-site religious services round out the lifestyle offering. Scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments, shopping, and local outings. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
