The Lutheran Home at Topton delivers three levels of care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—on one campus. The clinical team supports residents who wander during the day or night, remain awake overnight, require oxygen therapy, follow special diets, or manage diabetes by oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. The Memory Care unit is structured to serve residents with advanced dementia, offering consistent routines and oversight within a secured environment.
Registered and licensed nurses are on-site around the clock, supported by awake night staff who have cleared background checks. Safety measures include door alarms, a fenced front area, pull cords, and personal emergency response systems that link directly to staff. Residents have on-site podiatry visits and can receive full assistance with bathing, eating, and dressing, plus some physical help with toileting. Mobility support ranges from standby supervision to walker, wheelchair, or one-person transfers, ensuring most physical needs can be met without outside providers.
Apartments may feature a private bathroom, kitchenette, furnishings, individual climate controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate, though not every unit contains every feature. Dining operates on an on-order system, with snacks available throughout the day to accommodate varying schedules and dietary requirements. Independent Living residents can add medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, personal laundry service, and a monthly meal plan to tailor support without giving up autonomy.
The campus offers resident parking, outdoor smoking areas, and is fully wheelchair accessible. A barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, communal gardens, and on-site religious services provide daily engagement, and scheduled transportation links residents to local appointments and outings. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
