Juniper Village at Brookline delivers two core levels of care—Assisted Living and Memory Care. Residents who choose Assisted Living receive help with activities of daily living, routine health monitoring, and 24-hour staff availability. Those in Memory Care benefit from structured programs and secure environments tailored to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, along with specialized staff training to manage cognitive changes.
The community supplements these primary services with an extensive layer of on-site medical support. Respite or short-term stays are available for recovery or caregiver relief. Diabetes oversight includes blood-glucose monitoring and diet management. A visiting or on-staff physician coordinates care plans, while licensed speech therapists address communication or swallowing challenges. Additional services—such as incontinence and ambulatory assistance, hospice coordination, medication management, and regular visits from occupational therapists, physical therapists, and a podiatrist—allow many residents to avoid disruptive trips off campus.
Accommodations range from studio to larger apartment layouts. Depending on the unit selected, residents may have Wi-Fi, cable or satellite TV, air conditioning, kitchenettes, balconies, terraces, or patios. Some suites are pet-friendly, and common spaces include a central fireplace, piano or organ, and outdoor decks that connect to landscaped areas. Units and common areas are designed with handicap accessibility in mind, and on-site parking is available. Not all accommodations include every feature listed, so it is advisable to verify specific details when touring.
Meals are prepared by a professional chef and served restaurant-style, with all-day dining hours that let residents eat on their own schedule. Standard menus are supplemented by guest meal options and special diets—gluten-free, low or no sodium, and no-sugar selections—so medical or personal preferences are accommodated without extra planning. Three daily meals plus snacks are included, and staff monitor nutritional intake for residents who need additional oversight.
Residents have access to an activity center, a library and computer lounge, a swimming pool, and raised garden beds for hands-on horticulture. Scheduled programming includes happy hour gatherings, yoga and chair yoga, fitness classes, live music events, social outings around State College, and intergenerational activities that bring students and younger community groups on campus.
